SENSORY VALIDATION

The glass that transforms the art of wine tasting

Tested and reviewed by Bruno Ferrari, AIS Sommelier, certified professor, and professional wine taster.

VISUAL EXAMINATION

VISUAL EXAMINATION

The light reflected in the glass accelerates with the rotating movement, which allows for a better evaluation of cleanliness, vivacity, and brilliance.

The movement also allows for immediate detection and evaluation of any particles present.

Rotation also facilitates a better assessment of wines with low transparency (e.g., aged reds), as it is possible to analyze the wine from different "views" without needing to change the position of the glass.

OLFACTORY EXAMINATION

OLFACTORY EXAMINATION

The rotation of the glass ensures a more homogeneous formation of the aromatic funnel.

A slow rotation allows for a "preview" of the perfume and the evolution of the wine; a subsequent more intense rotation allows for the characterization of the olfactory categories and a better evaluation of the wine's intensity, complexity, and pleasantness.

TASTING EXAMINATION

TASTING EXAMINATION

An intense swirling, performed as preparation for the tasting, homogenizes the gustatory components of the wine (the so-called dry extract) and refines the perception of "soft" taste sensations – originating from sugars and glyceric substances – and "hard" taste sensations, originating from acids, salts, and tannins.
